Creamy Rosé Pasta Recipe

Whip up a delicious creamy tomato pasta dish that’s perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • Pasta: Penne, rigatoni, or spaghetti work well.

  • Base: Olive oil, onions, garlic.

  • Tomato: 500 ml tomato paste or passata (puréed tomatoes).

  • Cream: 200 ml heavy cream (or coconut cream as a dairy-free option).

  • Flavor Boosters: Red pepper flakes, basil, salt, pepper, sugar, and sometimes white wine or Parmesan cheese.

  • Add-ins (Optional): Chicken, shrimp, bacon, or spinach. 

Instructions

  1. Sauté Aromatics: Cook onions, then garlic (and any meat like bacon or chicken) in olive oil in a large skillet.

  2. Build Tomato Base: Add tomato paste/sauce and cook briefly, then simmer. Cook tomato paste until it darkens before adding cream.

  3. Add Cream & Simmer: Stir in heavy cream, letting it warm through and slightly thicken.

  4. Combine: Add the cooked pasta and some reserved pasta water to the sauce, tossing until coated.

  5. Finish: Stir in fresh herbs and cheese, season to taste, and serve with more toppings.
